Hey, y'all know that my boys love to eat berries
0:07
and they're pretty expensive, so I'm always trying to find a way to extend the life a little bit
0:12
Of course, you can go through, and any that are getting soft, you can take those out, because one bad strawberry will ruin the bunch
0:19
This is another good tip to extend the life of your berries. I've got three cups of water
0:30
and one cup of white vinegar. Now, the white vinegar is going to kill the bacteria on the berries
0:36
and it's also the agent that's going to add a few more days to them
0:40
So I'm going to do blueberries and strawberries. This is my boy's favorites
0:45
Jack calls them BBs, and we eat a ton of them at the house
0:49
Depending on the time of the year, they can really be expensive if they're out of season
0:53
so this is a great tip for anybody that's a berry-eating family like Brooke and I
0:58
I'm going to put them into the salad spinner, and get all this excess water off
1:11
This is exactly about the ratio that my mom would dye our Easter eggs in She would use vinegar and a little bit of oil
1:19
and any time I smell this, it reminds me of Easter back when I was growing up
1:24
Let's put our spinner top on, and we're going to fire this up. Oh, look at that
1:37
It's just kind of a fun kitchen tool to play with. We've got all the water spun off of these
1:55
I'll put these in bowls and I like to cover it with a couple of paper towels
2:00
And so now this is the easiest way that you can keep your berries longer for your family
2:06
Doesn't taste like vinegar either. This is a berry good tip. See what I did there
2:12
It's berries. Thanks, y'all
