Hey y'all. Today's how-to is the trifecta of how-tos. How to choose a pineapple, how to use a
0:14
pineapple, and how to core a pineapple. Y'all know that if you reach inside and if you can pick a
0:19
leaf out like this, that's a ripe pineapple. So that's how you choose a pineapple. How to use a
0:26
pineapple. My mom taught me this trick. I'm going to take the top off, and now when you do a fruit
0:33
tray, you hold on to this, and you park it in the back, and you build up the fruit around it. It gives
0:39
height to your fruit tray. It's green. It's fruit. It's beautiful. Now how to core a pineapple. We're
0:46
going to take the top off. Let's take the bottom off. We're going to take our knife down the side
0:51
We want to cut it as close to as we can, but at the same time, we have to get all these brown
0:58
prickly spots off. Go around your pineapple, work down to the bottom
1:04
So you've got to cut all these eyes out of the pineapple
1:13
And now you see the core down in here right here in the center I going to stay right next to that and cut straight down four times around the core
1:31
And now we've got four different pieces of pineapple that we can work with
1:35
So if you want to do spears, which spears are always fun
1:38
or you can do a couple of different cuts, and you can make chunks
1:45
There's a delicious fruit salad recipe right here on the network that you can use
1:49
I also love a pineapple sandwich. So if you get a hot dog bun, a little bit of mayonnaise
1:55
a little bit of mayonnaise, put the pineapple in the hot dog bun
1:58
you can eat you a pineapple sandwich. I love to do it that way
2:02
And if you're running short on space in your grocery cart, you can take the top
2:08
Give it a twist and you can remove it that way. My mom will kill you though because she loves to decorate with them
