There's just nothing like make ahead casseroles They save so much time
0:14
so much energy and you can put so many different things in your casseroles that you can
0:20
have like a one pot meal which is just great So I'm going to show you all
0:26
one of my favorite recipes is called a hot chicken salad. All we're going to do is get some white meat that's been poached
0:34
you can bake it in the oven as long as you have skinless breast meat. And these have
0:41
been poached. And I'm just going to cube these up into bite-sized pieces just like this
0:50
and this is great to make ahead. Put in the refrigerator and then when you come home
0:58
throw it in the oven and you got dinner ready All right now we got our chicken diced up I just going to throw it in the bowl We going to start with some mayonnaise
1:10
Because this is chicken salad. And you can't make chicken salad without mayonnaise
1:17
If you're not a real big mayonnaise fan, you could use a yogurt. Alright, I'm going to add two tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice
1:26
A half a cup of slivered almonds. and these are going to make this casserole have a crunch
1:33
And we've got a cup of diced celery. So you can see I'm putting this together
1:38
very, very much like a cold chicken salad that you would eat
1:44
But since this is going in the oven and going to come out hot
1:48
I don't think we can have a hot chicken salad without maybe a cup of cheese
1:54
And I'm using a white sharp cheddar. and that all we do to put this casserole together All right I gonna spray our pan or our bowl
2:14
We're just gonna toss it in there. Isn't that pretty
2:24
Alright, now for America's favorite snack food, maybe besides ice cream. We're gonna top our casserole with potato chips
2:32
And I'm just gonna put these into a resealable plastic bag and give them a crunch and finish
2:52
it off with a rolling pin. So now you know this casserole is going to be good
3:08
So we going to have the crunch from the chip We going to have the crunch from the almonds All right so see how pretty this
3:20
casserole is? So it's going into a preheated 350 degree oven. We're going to bake it for
3:26
about 20 minutes or until it's hot and bubbly. Ooh, that oven's hot
3:38
Mmm, that looks so good. Can you see it bubbling, y'all? I can't wait for y'all to try this recipe
3:47
Like I said, this casserole doesn't need a whole bunch. But I think I'm just going to put a few tomatoes
3:54
this will make just a nice light dish. It smells out of this world
4:03
Mmm! You're not going to believe what those potato chips do to that casserole, y'all
