(Paula laughs)
0:01
- Eddie, I wish you could have gotten
0:03
all this chit-chat on camera.
0:05
(Shane laughs)
0:06
- You sure about that?
0:08
- He was chittin' and I was chattin'.
0:10
(everyone laughs)
0:11
- All right, so.
0:12
- And I was mixing magic whip frosting.
0:15
- Yes. Yes.
0:16
You over there being a sweet ginger girl.
0:19
As promised in the first interview that I did with Betty.
0:26
I promised that she was gonna teach us
0:27
how to make a gingerbread house.
0:30
And, ah.
0:33
Sugar Shane.
0:35
She rangled in a friend of ours, Shane.
0:40
Quickly, how long have you and I known each other?
0:43
- 10 years.
0:44
- Where did I meet you first?
0:46
- In Dallas,
0:48
with the Southern Cooking Bible, on your tour.
0:50
- Oh I was on a book tour?
0:52
- Yup. Yup.
0:54
- Now, how did you meet Betty?
0:56
- So, the funny story, real quick,
0:58
I was in a restaurant in DC,
1:01
and at the corner of the bar,
1:03
Betty pops in with a couple of her friends.
1:05
- Ah huh.
1:06
and she said, hey, who's sittin' here?
1:07
And I said, you are, this is where the party is.
1:09
(Shane snaps his fingers and Betty laughs)
1:10
- Lets roll.
1:11
- And we do events all over the place, run around.
1:13
- So you just help her with all kinds of stuff.
1:16
- Yup.
1:17
- Shane has, normally his job has always
1:20
been in the kitchen, hadn't it?
1:21
- Yup, chef. Pastry chef.
1:22
- In fact, he was here in Savannah for a very short while.
1:27
Better than Sex Bar,
1:28
- Mmm hmm.
1:30
- and Savannah just wasn't ready for that.
1:33
Bad timing. COVID.
1:34
- Well, It's still here.
1:35
- Oh, it is still here.
1:36
- Yeah, it's still here.
1:37
- I was thinkin' it closed.
1:38
- No no no. It's still here.
1:39
I'm just not with the company anymore.
1:40
- Oh, okay.
1:41
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:42
I sure thought when you left it, it closed.
1:44
- They making it.
1:45
(everyone laughs)
1:47
- Good.
1:48
- Surprise, surprise, surprise.
1:49
- Without you they're making it?
1:51
- Without me, can you believe it?
1:53
- 'Cause everything they taught him, he taught them.
1:55
- Uh huh.
1:57
- So you were very smart because, to enlist Shane,
2:01
'cause he's a good friend.
2:02
He'll do anything he can to help out. So.
2:05
- He's amazing.
2:06
- Betty has enlisted Shane to help her,
2:09
because I'm here just to learn.
2:13
And our friend, what do you call? Diane?
2:15
- Decadent Diane.
2:16
- Decadent Diane-
2:18
(everyone laughs)
2:20
is holding Betty's book.
2:24
And she's gonna tell us how to-
2:27
What she gonna say?
2:29
- She's gonna tell us a little bit,
2:30
we're gonna put together a house
2:31
just to show everybody how to.
2:34
- Uh huh.
2:34
- You know, some little tricks of the trade
2:36
- Yeah.
2:37
for successful gingerbread house to go up,
2:39
- Yes. - so you don't get frustrated. - Yes.
2:40
And she's gonna tell us what it says in the storybook
2:44
- Oh.
2:45
- about our Ginger Betty camp.
2:46
Cookie camp for all the good little boys and girls,
2:48
gingerbread boys and girls.
2:49
- Oh, this is wonderful.
2:50
- So Decadent Diane, what do they do
2:52
over at Gingerbread Land?
2:53
(everyone laughs)
2:54
- [Diane] Just outside the North Pole in Savannah, Georgia.
2:56
- Just outside the North Pole?
2:58
- [Diane] Ginger Snap and Raisin Head
3:01
were in Ginger City, Savannah.
3:04
They were attending the Christmas Camp
3:07
at Gingerbread University.
3:09
That's where all the good little gingerbread boys and girls
3:14
go every year to sharpen their skills.
3:18
There they will build a gingerbread house,
3:21
decorate cookies, whip up magic frosting,
3:26
sing Christmas carols, inspect gumdrops.
3:31
Hope for peace.
3:33
- [Paula] I'm going to inspect the gumdrops,
3:33
they're good and spicy.
3:35
- And of course share cookies and make friends.
3:38
- [Shane] In that order.
3:39
- In that order. Will you all be there?
3:41
(everyone laughs and claps)
3:43
- [Paula] Yes, I vote for that.
3:44
- [Betty] I vote for that.
3:45
All right, Decadent Diane, are you gonna come over here
3:47
and inspect those gumdrops? Please?
3:49
- [Paula] All right. I am gonna step to the side,
3:53
because there's only room for so many back here.
3:56
And plus, I'm gonna sit on a chair
3:58
and I'm gonna learn because the one time
4:00
I tried to do a gingerbread house, it collapsed.
4:04
(everyone laughs)
4:05
And I want you to be sure and tell, Betty,
4:08
that y'all ship these.
4:09
- [Betty] Um hmm.
4:10
- [Paula] And how you ship them and all that, okay?
4:14
- In this here little project you gonna
4:15
try to put earrings on her.
4:17
- [Paula] Oh, no!
4:17
- [Betty] Okay. And she's not stuck here, so be careful.
4:21
Here, lift her right up.
4:21
- [Paula] Lookit. Lookit.
4:23
Lookit.
4:24
- [Betty] Peppermint Paula.
4:25
- Peppermint Paula.
4:27
[Betty] Yeah.
4:28
- [Shane] Budda Dean.
4:29
- Budda Dean!
4:30
(everyone laughs)
4:31
- But listen, I didn't want to put her earrings
4:33
'cause nobody messes with the girl's hoops.
4:35
So I'm gonna allow you.
4:36
- Well, I may just take these off and put these on her.
4:40
(everyone laughs)
4:42
- Okay. So, I'm-
4:43
- So, you're gonna put that one together?
4:45
- And you can be doing the dough.
4:46
- Okay, so I'm gonna put together this house
4:50
while Shane is working on this house.
4:50
We let this set up already for probably about eight hours.
4:56
- [Shane] Mmm hmm.
4:57
Or so. And then that's the one thing that's super important.
5:01
So that the house will stay together.
5:03
You know, if you just use the frosting,
5:05
it will just collapse.
5:06
So you wanna give it,
5:07
once you put the walls in the front and back together,
5:10
you wanna give it sufficient time.
5:12
But I will say one of the first important things is
5:16
when you're rolling out the gingerbread.
5:19
See how this is one of the fronts and backs.
5:21
You wanna make sure you have straight lines here,
5:24
because if they're not straight,
5:26
when you go to put the roof on, it's gonna be crooked.
5:30
So that would be the first thing I would say.
5:33
And then you want to hold it for like one, two, three,
5:34
or you could say Hail Mary or something.
5:37
(Betty laughs)
5:38
- Ah. Jingle bells.
5:40
- Oh, sing jingle bells.
5:41
(Betty and Shane laugh)
5:42
And then, Diane. So, this one's nice and ready.
5:45
- [Paula] Mmm hmm.
5:46
So she's gonna go to town on this and just,
5:48
well, she already ate a handful of gumdrops, because
5:50
- [Diane] I did.
5:51
- [Betty] That's what we say to do,
5:53
so you can get the creative juices going in.
5:55
And spice drops, always do that for science.
5:57
- [Paula] And Diane's very crafty.
5:59
- [Shane] Very crafty.
6:02
- [Diane] I hope this sticks to here.
6:03
- [Paula] I hope this turns out good.
6:05
- [Betty] I think I need some more on the top.
6:08
Yeah, that one's for icicles.
6:10
Where's the other one?
6:11
- [Shane] I gave it to them.
6:12
- [Betty] Right behind there?
6:13
All right. So I'm gonna put this large house together.
6:15
Let's hope it sticks here.
6:17
But usually I just take a little frosting,
6:19
pipe it down here, pipe this here,
6:24
and then just pipe this along the bottom.
6:27
Then you're gonna get your spot for it.
6:30
You're just gonna hold it together.
6:32
Hold it up like that 'til you get the side on.
6:35
And then you're just gonna pipe the frosting
6:36
right back here.
6:39
Right where you're gonna put the wall.
6:43
So on, here's one of my walls.
6:44
I'm just gonna pop here.
6:46
And if the frosting is consistent,
6:48
what you really want is when you mix up,
6:50
it's like a meringue powder or you can use egg whites.
6:53
You can find a royal icing recipe anywhere.
6:56
And so you just wanna get the frosting.
6:59
So it's stiff peaks.
7:01
'Cause if it's too soupy, it's never gonna work.
7:04
So when you can always add a little in here,
7:05
just make sure there's enough that it's gonna stick.
7:11
So let's see, we'll pop this one here.
7:15
- [Paula] And you're just doing that
7:17
straight on the cutting board?
7:19
- [Betty] Yeah.
7:19
- [Paula] And it's gonna harden,
7:21
and you'll be able to pop him right off?
7:23
- [Betty] Mmm hmm.
7:25
And we're just gonna do this.
7:28
And so, like I said, we'll let this sit here for,
7:31
I mean, overnight is really what you'd like,
7:33
just so you make sure that it hardens.
7:35
So when you go to start, see,
7:37
you're just going to pop that here,
7:39
and then you wanna make sure
7:40
that it's connected, like this.
7:45
So just hold that.
7:46
And sometimes you can take a knife
7:47
and just pull the cream up like this.
7:49
- [Paula] Uh huh. Uh huh.
7:50
And also the other thing is, if you're in a rush,
7:53
'cause at the bakery we do this,
7:54
a lot of people will come in and say,
7:55
oh, can I have like three more gingerbread houses?
7:58
But if you need to make one on the fly, you can do this.
8:02
And then you just take a little bit of chocolate.
8:04
and you can run it right down the side.
8:07
So that will just help it harden up, and you know,
8:10
so you can get the roof on there.
8:12
But again, if you do this,
8:14
I would recommend doing it like a weekend project,
8:18
especially for the kids.
8:19
You might wanna-
8:20
- [Paula] Yeah.
8:21
- put it together one night,
8:21
and then make sure it's all hardened.
8:24
And then we can put the roof on,
8:26
you know, usually like seven hours.
8:28
But the next day I like to do it.
8:30
So, you're gingerbread house is gonna be ready to roll.
8:33
And this is perfect consistency.
8:35
And look at Sugar Shane.
8:36
- Shingle it up.
8:37
- Oh, wow.
8:39
- [Paula] How do you get your gingerbread?
8:42
How do you cut your gingerbread?
8:45
- [Betty] So we have, we use a,
8:47
So we have a sheeter, and then-
8:50
- [Paula] You have a what?
8:51
- A sheeter.
8:52
(Shane laughs)
8:53
- Say that a little slower.
8:53
(everyone laughs)
8:54
- [Paula] I got a couple of those in my house!
8:57
(everyone laughs)
8:59
- Yeah, no, we have a sheeter, sheeter,
9:03
and it sheets the dough.
9:04
- [Paula] Uh huh.
9:05
- And then we have the cutters that we have, you know,
9:08
the shapes of the house and things like that.
9:10
And then we just pop them on.
9:11
- All different sizes.
9:13
- [Paula] Well, at home, we would not have a sheeter.
9:14
- Yeah. So you just take your rollin' pin,
9:16
- [Paula] Uh huh.
9:16
take a little flour,
9:17
- [Paula] Uh huh.
9:18
and you can find, you know,
9:19
your favorite family recipe of gingerbread.
9:21
- [Paula] Uh huh, uh huh.
9:22
And then you roll out the cookies to the thickness
9:24
that you like, and yeah.
9:26
Then you just cut them. You bake them off.
9:28
- [Paula] So you could, you could draw you off a pattern,
9:31
- Mmm hmm.
9:32
- Absolutely.
9:33
- [Paula] using wax paper or somethin' like that.
9:35
- Or even on cardboard or somethin'.
9:36
- [Paula] On cardboard, yeah.
9:37
Because you would want everything the same size.
9:41
- Absolutely.
9:42
- [Paula] So.
9:44
- So they look more-
9:45
- [Paula] So it's architecturally correct.
9:46
- Yeah.
9:47
(Paula laughs)
9:48
- And the thing is, so we've had that happen tons of times.
9:50
So it depends on who's cutting.
9:51
And if they put the pieces in the oven,
9:54
and one moved, and it might have a chunk outta here,
9:57
we don't worry about that 'cause when you put it together,
10:00
a little bit of Royal icing will fix it.
10:02
- [Paula] It fixes a lot of sins.
10:04
- And icing goes, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
10:05
- You cover a lot of stuff.
10:06
- So no stressing over the gingerbread houses.
10:09
Just bring your imagination and-
10:11
- [Paula] Hmm mmm.
10:12
- Good to go.
10:14
All right. I think they're hiding-
10:15
- [Paula] I was gonna say the magic of television.
10:18
- [Diane] Yes.
10:21
- [Paula] Do we have one that size, Betty,
10:24
that is ready to finish up?
10:26
- [Betty] We have one of the leaning ones over there.
10:29
- [Paula] Okay. Is this one you want me
10:31
to patch with this one?
10:32
- [Betty] Yeah, please.
10:33
- [Paula] So this is identical to the one that you would do.
10:37
And it's just on a little smaller scale.
10:40
- [Betty] Yeah. This is a little smaller scale.
10:41
So this is our medium house and this is the large house
10:45
right here. And this is gonna be perfect for your cookie.
10:49
- [Paula] All right. Peppermint Paula has her earrings.
10:53
- Oh!
10:54
- [Shane] She got her earrings on?
10:55
- Let's see. Don't slide. It's slippery.
10:58
Oh!
10:59
- [Shane] Check her out!
11:00
(everyone laughs)
11:03
- [Betty] Oh, sweet!
11:06
- [Paula] I'm thinking I'm gonna hook some of these
11:08
on my ears,
11:09
(everyone laughs)
11:11
and so I can have me some peppermint earrings, too.
11:19
- I think that's a perfect nickname, Peppermint Paula.
11:22
(Paula laughs)
11:24
- [Paula] Ooh.
11:26
Look at the green!
11:27
- And where's the glitter?
11:29
We don't have any.
11:30
- [Shane] This is same, sugar like this?
11:32
- [Betty] Yeah.
11:33
- [Shane] Yeah.
11:34
- [Betty] You can pop that right there.
11:36
And usually we put a little glitter,
11:37
but if we just want to put a little sugar.
11:39
- [Paula] Yeah. That looks like, hmm mmm, chunks of snow.
11:43
I mean, chunks of ice.
11:45
- [Betty] Here you go. I'll have to get icicles.
11:50
- [Shane] So, do you make anything other
11:52
than gingerbread when you bake?
11:54
- [Paula] So, yeah. Told ya. Blank.
11:54
- [Diane] So if you hold it blank.
11:55
- We do. We do a bunch of other cookies.
11:58
We do macaroons that are super popular.
11:59
Macaroons, you know, sugar cookies,
12:05
chocolate chips, brownies.
12:06
- [Paula] That's beautiful.
12:07
- We do trays. A lot of trays.
12:07
- [Shane] You gotta control your pressure with the cone.
12:08
Cookie trays for the Christmas or for the holidays,
12:09
- [Paula] I know, I know, but I just can't.
12:10
and we do birthday cakes, wedding cakes.
12:14
Just gonna reach out for these gumdrops.
12:15
- [Paula] I wanna-
12:16
- [Shane] Oh, okay.
12:17
- Did you already inspected the gumdrops, Decadent Diane?
12:19
- [Diane] Yeah, I did inspect the gum drops.
12:20
- Oh, you rock.
12:21
- [Diane] I tasted a few, too.
12:23
(Betty laughs)
12:26
(candies sprinkle on roof)
12:30
- [Betty] Eggnog Eddie, are you gonna try it?
12:32
- [Diane] You make a really big mess when you do this.
12:35
- [Shane] He's definitely gonna try it.
12:36
(Shane laughs)
12:37
- [Diane] Okay. Let's see. What now do I want?
12:40
- I'll take some of these.
12:41
(candies rattle in dish)
12:43
- [Diane] Nice. Look at that.
12:44
- No, it's awful.
12:45
(Shane laughs)
12:46
- We need a smaller tip for you.
12:48
- [Diane] You're strong. That's what that means.
12:50
- [Betty] Yeah. You need a smaller tip.
12:52
- [Paula] Merry Christmas.
12:54
(Shane laughs)
12:55
- [Diane] How's the Christmas?
12:57
- [Shane] We had to break it off the board, so that-
12:59
- [Paula] Look how pretty the merry is,
13:02
that Shane did, and there's my Christ-mas.
13:05
(everyone laughs)
13:08
- [Betty] Oh my goodness.
13:12
You know, you can't be good at everything.
13:15
- Can't be good at everything.
13:16
(everyone laughs)
13:20
- All right. What else do I wanna do to this thing?
13:23
[Paula] Oh my goodness, y'alls Ms are so pretty.
13:28
- [Shane] Gonna need some of these.
13:30
- [Betty] All right. Where's that other little Paula cookie,
13:32
so we could put her in the front yard.
13:35
- [Paula] In the front yahrd!
13:36
- [Shane] In the front yahrd!
13:37
(Betty laughs)
13:38
- You're getting the accent down pretty good.
13:39
You might pass for Bostonian.
13:41
- That's 'cause I love y'alls accent.
13:43
Oh. And I love where the snow is, kinda.
13:46
I'm gonna do some icicles. You wanna try?
13:49
- [Paula] No.
13:50
(everyone laughs)
13:52
- [Betty] All right.
13:53
- [Paula] You want this to be pretty?
13:54
- [Betty] What do you wanna put for the walkway?
13:55
Here, put these balls in there.
13:56
'Cause you were looking to do somethin' with those.
13:57
- [Paula] I know it, but wait. I might want somethin' else.
13:59
- [Betty] You want M and M's or something?
14:00
- [Paula] No.
14:03
Let me see what I want.
14:05
- [Diane] What do you want?
14:07
- I think I might want some of these.
14:09
- [Betty] Okay.
14:10

- [Shane] Ope!
26:40
- [Betty] I'll get that chocolate off the trashcan.
26:41
- [Paula] Oh.
26:42
(Paula laughs loudly)
26:42
That I left
26:44
on my trashcan?
26:45
(Betty and Paula laugh)
26:50
- [Betty] Oh my goodness. All right.
26:51
Where is Santa going?
26:53
Shane's getting it downtown.
26:55
- [Diane] Yes, he is.
26:56
- [Paula] I'm tellin' ya what.
26:58
- [Shane] I don't know if these wings are gonna-
26:59
- [Paula] You're gonna have to,
27:00
- [Diane] I can't wait to see the wings.
27:02
- [Shane] Yeah.
27:03
- [Betty] We're gonna have to get Shane a rest.
27:04
- [Paula] I think you're gonna have to stand there, Shane,
27:06
and hold them.
27:07
- [Shane] Hold it.
27:07
- [Betty] Mmm hmm.
27:08
- [Paula] You know, we probably should've cut
27:11
- [Betty] Ooh, I should've used gumdrops.
27:13
- [Paula] Cut these earrings.
27:15
These candy canes.
27:19
- [Shane] Just gotta let sit there for a second.
27:20
- [Paula] So it wouldn't be quite so big.
27:23
- [Off Screen Voice] They're super cute.
27:25
- [Paula] You know what else we could have used?
27:27
- [Shane] What's that?
27:28
- [Paula] The Twizzlers.
27:29
(everyone agrees)
27:30
- They don't have any.
27:32
Eddie, do you got any Twizzlers?
27:34
- [Eddie] I don't have any, either.
27:35
(everyone laughs)
27:36
- [Betty] Oh my gosh! They mustn't have made
27:37
the bag, 'cause they were there on the table.
27:39
(Paula laughs)
27:40
- The Twizzlers.
27:41
- Eddie, Eddie.
27:42
Twizzlers is legal for Eddie to eat,
27:45
right now that he's watchin'-
27:47
- [Diane] He can eat Twizzlers?
27:49
- [Paula] Yeah, those licorice things.
27:50
- [Diane] You can?
27:51
- [Paula] He ate so many-
27:52
- [Paula] Easy, Pop.
27:53
Oh, it's - look! Look, Eddie.
27:55
(Betty laughs)
27:56
I was tryin' to figure out. Look.
27:58
It's called a Dizzy Pop.
28:00
(Shane and Betty laugh)
28:02
You are getting sleepy.
28:04
(everyone laughs)
28:06
You are getting very, very sleepy.
28:08
(everyone laughs)
28:10
And I have a favor to ask of you.
28:13
(everyone laughs)
28:15
You are getting sleepy.
28:16
(everyone laughs)
28:18
I've never seen one of these.
28:20
- [Betty] There goes the neighborhood.
28:22
- Uh huh.
28:23
- [Betty] How funny.
28:23
- Yup.
28:25
- [Shane] See, what I-
28:30
- [Paula] You're losin' your gumballs!
28:32
- [Betty] I'm losin' my gumballs.
28:37
- [Diane] So, my door is closed, because-
28:39
- [Shane] Well, look at you! You got all.
28:40
That's why I couldn't find a present.
28:41
You got 'em all at your house.
28:42
- [Diane] The door is closed.
28:44
(everyone laughs)
28:46
You can not get in the front door because
28:47
Ginger Betty's in there, making cookies.
28:49
- [Paula] You can use these as presents.
28:51
- [Shane] Oh yeah, I can.
28:52
- So y'all, that completes today's lesson
28:54
in how to put a gingerbread house together.
28:58
And remember, earlier I said that you can order
29:04
just a plain house already put together
29:08
from Gingerbread Betty's business.
29:12
What's the actual-
29:14
- [Betty] Ginger Betty's.
29:15
- [Paula] Ginger Betty's.
29:17
Your website.
29:19
Yup. It's GingerBettys.com.
29:21
That's easy enough to remember. GingerBetty.com
29:29
And what else did I wanna say?
29:30
Oh, so with the house y'all, it's not decorated,
29:34
but Ginger Betty, it includes everything
29:38
that it takes to build the gingerbread house, right?
29:42
- [Shane] It comes constructed.
29:44
- [Paula] No.
29:45
- [Shane] It comes built.
29:46
- [Betty] It comes assembled, though sometimes-
29:47
- [Paula] The house is built.
29:48
- [Betty] Yeah. Sometimes people will get them
29:50
unassembled if they really want to take on the project.
29:54
But most people will say,
29:55
you know, to keep the kids quiet, not a lot of screaming.
29:58
They'll get the house that's already put together.
30:01
- [Paula] So they can get right to it.
30:03
So this is Diane's house.
30:08
Look how cute.
30:09
- [Betty] Decadent Diane.
30:11
- [Paula] Yes. Ooh, what's that? Hmm?
30:13
(everyone laughs)
30:15
- [Shane] It's a surprise!
30:16
- [Paula] What's that?
30:17
(everyone laughs)
30:19
- [Diane] It was supposed to be a window.
30:21
- [Paula] Oh, a window.
30:22
- [Diane] Yeah, but Shane had the little pie things.
30:25
- [Paula] And this is Shane's. Look at the snowman.
30:28
Now, that is two-
30:30
- [Betty] Cute. Oh, two chocolate balls.
30:33
- [Shane] Truffles.
30:34
- [Paula] Truffles. Uh huh. Lindor's truffles?
30:35
- [Shane] Lindl truffle, yeah.
30:36
- [Paula] Put together and he just squirted a hat on him,
30:41
and eyes, and a big smile, and the scarf,
30:45
and the Christmas tree was made
30:48
out of a ice cream cone,
30:52
which I think is so clever.
30:57
And let's see what he's got around here.
30:59
Look at his angel! Look at that little angel!
31:02
- [Shane] Don't look too close. She's about to take a nap.
31:05
(everyone laughs)
31:06
- [Paula] She is, but that's all right. She's tired.
31:10
And here's an ice cream cone,
31:13
that's filled with all kind of
31:17
rich ice cream and the presents,
31:20
and the big ho, ho, ho,
31:22
(everyone laughs)
31:25
and the Merry Christmas.
31:28
What pretty writing these two have.
31:31
Can you show 'em the Merry Christmas?
31:33
Now this is what Ginger Betty wrote.
31:35
Merry Christmas.
31:37
- [Betty] That's a Peppermint Paula over there.
31:37
- [Paula] Yeah!
31:38
And Peppermint Paula is coming out of the house!
31:41
(everyone laughs)
31:42
But look at this.
31:43
- [Betty] There's a sleigh with Santa. Is he over there?
31:45
- [Paula] Yes! Oh, look at the sleigh!
31:48
- [Shane] Is that mistletoe on top of Paula's head?
31:50
- [Betty] Hmm mmm.
31:51
- [Shane] Ut oh.
31:52
(everyone laughs)
31:53
- She's looking for Molasses Michael.
31:54
She was hopin' to get a peek, but St. Nick's here.
31:57
(everyone laughs)
31:59
- [Paula] Oh, and look, the beautiful bow
32:01
you covered with a soldier man.
32:04
(everyone laughs)
32:06
I did the bow, y'all, and it was pitiful.
32:10
- [Betty] We had to save the bow.
32:11
- [Paula] Yes, save the bow.
32:14
But now tell everybody where they would go
32:17
to find all these different candies, Betty,
32:20
to put their houses together.
32:23
- Okay. So I mean, most of the times, you know,
32:25
we'll do wholesale things, but you know,
32:27
you can come into the bakery, or you can go to BJ's.
32:31
I find they have a lot of candy, a lot of different ones.
32:34
Sometimes it's better than the wholesale.
32:36
- [Paula] Uh huh.
32:37
- or a Walmart or something. Costco.
32:39
- [Paula] And I bet. I bet.
32:42
I know that,
32:45
not Whole Foods, but the other one.
32:47
- Fresh Market.
32:48
- [Paula] Fresh Market, you know.
32:49
- Yeah.
32:50
- [Paula] They have a lot of candies, you know.
32:51
(everyone agrees and suggests stores)
32:53
- [Paula] You know, where you can buy 'em
32:54
by the pound or whatever.
32:56
- Yeah, but do you guys have Stop and Shop here or no?
32:58
- No.
32:59
- [Paula] Ut huh.
32:59
- But even a CVS or a Walgreens, you'd be surprised,
33:02
and sometimes, I mean, the candy is so expensive right now,
33:05
try even the dollar store or-
33:07
- [Paula] Yes!
33:08
- Yes, CVS or Walgreens.
33:09
- [Paula] I thought about that dollar store.
33:10
That's a great place.
33:11
But they could call or contact you,
33:14
and order special candies from you, couldn't they?
33:16
- Yup, absolutely, yup.
33:18
- [Paula] So remember.
33:23
- Remember.
33:24
- Ginger Betty.
33:25
(Betty laughs)
33:26
- Dot com.
33:27
- We have frosting on the brain.
33:28
- Uh huh.
33:29
I think we have gingerbread on the brain.
33:30
We've been at this for awhile.
33:31
- [Paula] Uh huh.
33:32
Gingerbetty.com.
33:34
- Yeah.
33:35
And it's a sweet holiday tradition,
33:36
and you'll have so much fun with your family and friends,
33:39
and then you get to eat the whole thing.
33:41
- [Paula] Well. I'm just so impressed.
33:42
And you know what, Ginger, baby?
33:45
- Yes?
33:46
- [Paula] I think you oughta write an autobiography.
33:47
- I think she should.
33:48
- Do it up!
33:49
- Okay. Always sweet, sometimes spicy.
33:50
- [Paula] 'Cause you got a story in ya.
33:52
You got a story in ya.
33:54
- Yeah. It was fun. Thank you so much.
33:56
- [Paula] Oh, no, thank you.
33:58
I'm so in awe.
34:00
and Diane and Shane just,
34:03
they did ya right.
34:05
- They did.
34:06
- [Paula] Santa's helpers.
34:07
- Dinner on me.
34:08
- [Paula] Gingerbread help.
34:09
(everyone laughs)
34:10
- Filet for everyone.
34:12
- [Paula] We'll see y'all for the next video.
34:14
And she is going to show us how to make a gingerbread man
34:18
or woman.
34:19
Or both.
34:21
- Bingo.
34:22
- Bingo.
34:23
- [Paula] Bingo bango.
34:24
(everyone laughs)
