Are y'all ready for this
0:15
All right, girls, we're gonna share a recipe with y'all today. This is the best crack candy in the world
0:24
Absolutely. We're gonna start off with one of Paula's favorite ingredients. We have two sticks of butter
0:30
Okay? Love us some butter. And let me just say, it is sinful Wednesday
0:42
No, it ain't. It's sinful Monday. Oh, I forgot. So we are making something that is sinful
0:50
Yes. Suzette, do you want to take a sleeve and a half of crackers, and we're going to line them out
0:55
We're just using soda crackers. Plain soda crackers. So we're melting this butter
1:00
Then I'm gonna get me a cup of brown sugar. And we're gonna cook it down
1:12
On Mondays, we like to treat ourselves. Because Mondays can really get you down
1:17
And you gotta have something. It will put a little LBs on you
1:20
but you can work it off by doing cheese. That's right! I played basketball and I a sports fanatic but I did try out for cheerleading when I was in the eighth grade And I had all the good moves you know
1:38
until it came to the cartwheel and round-off time. And my father was in the audience, and he was cheering me on
1:44
And all my girlfriends went on before me, and they did so good
1:48
They had those moves. And I ran out, and I was so excited. And I did my round-off and fell out in the middle
1:54
and just stood there. I couldn't even remember. We got it. I mean, I just froze
2:01
And I started squalling. But my dad went home. He felt so sorry for me
2:06
He went home and built me the Mac Daddy treehouse. I mean, with lounge chairs in it and everything
2:14
It was nice. Because he felt so bad for me. And, you know, I'll never forget that as long as I live
2:20
All right, y'all. All right, we got this stuff for cooking up
2:24
We're going to pour this over. Look at that goodness. Suzette, get that spatula
2:32
and just start spreading all that goodness so each cracker gets a little all tasty
2:36
Yeah, you don't want to leave anyone out. No jealousy on this squad
2:42
All right, and then we're going to pop this in a 350-degree oven for three to five minutes
2:49
And, y'all, this is great, not just for Mondays, but for holidays. People just lose their religion
2:55
Speaking of sinful, they lose their religion, all these soda crackers because it just so good And it so simple I telling you if you touch that sugar and butter it so messy God don mess you up That hot All right pop them in sister
3:12
Let me just turn it. I need a little old something. That thing is hot. We're going to keep that in there about three to five minutes
3:20
And then once we take it out, we're going to put us one cup of the English toffee
3:25
a cup of walnuts chopped, and then a cup, cup and a half
3:29
of chocolate chips. Are y'all ready for this? Yeah! All right, guys, it is hot, hot, hot
3:40
I could eat it just like that. Our mother and father rented a little apartment
3:46
behind Paula's mother's house, and so they were the same age, pregnant together
3:50
and then they had just became wonderful friends. We did everything. And then Bobby came along
3:57
and then just, what, a year later, Amy came along, so they were our first friends
4:02
I mean, we did everything together. I mean, every family vacation. I think the best memories of our childhood growing up
4:10
was cooking on the weekends. We didn't have any money, but we didn't know any different
4:16
because, I mean, Paula could make, I mean, anything taste like we went to the finest of finest restaurants
4:22
I mean, she and Mama could get in the kitchen, and that's how we learned to cook. Now, they would not let us in the kitchen
4:27
We could look, but they wouldn't let us. Yeah, we sat on the other side of the bar and watched them
4:32
and they would get in there. And my mom kitchen was set up similar to this so we were all lined up on the bar Salivating And Mom and Paula would do all the cooking and we would of course get to taste everything and eat it
4:44
And then after that, we'd all retire to our living room. They'd play cards
4:48
And we would do a lot of dancing. We'd crank up Elvis Presley
4:52
Bobby and I would dance together. Suzette and Jamie would dance together. And, I mean, just the best time of our life
5:00
All right, we're gonna stick this back in. We turn the oven off. Sue, you didn't turn the oven off
5:05
Well, it's all right. We need a little heat in here. We're going to put it in for about three minutes
5:09
And it melts that goodness all over those soda crackers. Miss Paula, where's Perler
5:15
I'm right here. Perler, come help me. Come take this. Oh, I didn't think y'all was ever going to call me
5:20
OK. Let me get you one in the middle. I was going to say that one ain't covered
5:25
That's part naked. Let me get it. I don't want no naked soda cracker
5:31
Oh, thank you. It is sinful, my lady. Ooh, it really is
5:36
Look at that. Y'all, and this... Look at that. It's good, isn't it
5:46
You can find this recipe and a lot of our other recipes that we've done with Paula on the Paula Deen Network
5:52
Yep, because we've been cooking together for years and years. Yes, we have. Y'all, this is so darn good
5:58
It is. Give me a little of cheers. Mm-hmm. Thank you
