Chocolate Mound Brownies

We're making brownies

Melt chocolate, melt! Today is Paula's Potluck dish

And I am here with my perfect friend for Paula's potluck. This is Bruce Beard, y'all

Bruce plans weddings. I produce weddings. He produces weddings. What are we making today

We're making brownies. Ooh! There we go. You get started, baby. Okay

Now, you know I don't cook, so you're gonna have to tell me what to do. That's all right. You put in two sticks of butter

and four squares of chocolate right there in that pot. Okay. I normally don't use this small amount of butter

in anything I do. I bet you could write a book, Bruce

because you know what? When we started catering, I told my boys

I said, now, I'll cater anything. You got to put that on the heat so it'll melt

It was melting too quick. I didn't want to burn it. All right, and your chocolate

You got to put your chocolate in there. All right, I'm going to turn that down

That's all right. You can put it back down. Put that down. Because I've turned it on. Hell, chocolate, melt

I put it on low for you. Oh, OK. All right, now I've got four eggs here, Brucie

Have you beat them? I'm beating them right now. I'm beating them eggs up

You're whooping that . Uh And I going to add two cups of sugar All right so anyway when we started You need any more butter in there Well no you got the butter Oh that right

You bringing the butter to this party. Okay. All right, so we got our two cups of sugar

And notice I'm not even using a mixer with this. This is just a stirring bake

I'm telling you. All right, I'm gonna add two teaspoons of vanilla. Whoa

That might be like one tablespoon, but you know what? That's all right

That's the only alcohol we got. Oh. But I told the boys, I said, now, I'll cater anything

I'll cook for anything. I said, but there's one thing I want to avoid, boys

and that's weddings. Oh, why? With a high-strung bride and a double high-strung mother

Honey, that should be mom-zillas. Mom-zillas. Because, honey, they come out of the straight woodwork

That's why, you know, I just didn't want that kind of drama in my life. Well, I can understand that

But see, I love that kind of drama. You do? I love getting right up in the middle of all of it

Do you really, Bruce? See, that's the good thing about being a plate. Oh, yeah. All right, tell me, is that chocolate melted yet

Oh, yes, girl. Oh, OK. So we can go ahead and... I guess it's running. We can go ahead and turn that off

OK. All right, I'm going to add... Into this? Uh-huh. OK. Throw it in

Okay, I'm going to add one cup of flour. Mm-hmm. And I'm going to add..

I don't want to add. Yes. Well, I'm counting on you to beat it to it. Well, you were trying professional to it

All right, and I just added one teaspoon of baking powder. Now I'm going to add a fourth of a teaspoon of salt

and you just beat that up good baby Oh honey I beat it to an inch of its life All right well we going to just slowly drizzle it in there Is that syrup Yeah you stir

Because I just don't want to cook those eggs. So we'll just kind of like temper it in, you know

So tell me the worst experience you've ever lived through. Oh, how much time do you have

I've got all day. Well, I had one little bride one time that came in

she was wanting me to get on up in her business and do her wedding for her. And so her mother was there with her

and we were sitting at a large round table. Every time I asked this little girl a question

she would open her mouth, but her mother's voice would come out of it. After about an hour of this

the mother finally got up to go wee-wee. And while she was gone, I looked at the little girl

I said, honey, is this anything like what you really want for your wedding? And she said, no, this is what mother wants for her wedding

Mother wants for her wedding. So anyway, when Mama came back and sat down

I asked a couple more questions, and sure enough, that mouth opened and Mama came out

Okay, I think that's enough. Okay. Of my story or of this? No, no, of this

So anyway, as Mother was answering, I just kind of leaned up and I said, Honey, next time you get married

I know exactly what you want for your wedding, but I want to hear about what this little angel right here wants

Well, needless to say, I didn't get that job. All right, baby, pour your batter in here

Now, look how easy that was, y'all. Not even an electric mixer. I can do it

Oh, you can... No, I'm gonna let you scrape. Oh. You want to stick this in the oven baby We were together not long ago

and your class reunion was going on, and you had me call one of your buddies

Yes, yes, yes. And tell them that the reason you weren't there

is because you and I were off having fun together. Exactly. Honey, that phone call from you wiped the slate clean

Oh, it did. Oh, yes, God, honey. If they've played that message many times

there probably is not even any memory of it now. Uh-uh. Well, I'm glad..

Now, what are we topping that with? Now, we're just gonna put a little fresh cream on it

Look at that. You might find this hard to believe, but I love to eat. It shocks many

All right, so tell me. What did you think about my brownie

Oh, these are great. Aren't they delicious? Audio Shop gonna love this if there's any left

All right, let's take this over here to our friends. This ain't none of that old frozen stuff
