Hey, I told y'all before we went on break
0:06
that I was gonna be making a pineapple casserole.
0:09
My family just loves when I make this.
0:12
So if you hadn't ever had this one,
0:14
you're gonna want to try it.
0:15
Super simple to make.
0:17
I need about two cups of cheese,
0:18
so that looks about right.
0:21
We're gonna start with a cup of sugar,
0:24
and then we're gonna stir in six tablespoons of flour.
0:29
And that's gonna make it kind of thick
0:31
and, like, stick all together.
0:36
So we just stir that together.
0:39
And then we're gonna take our pineapple.
0:41
Now you don't want to throw away your pineapple juice.
0:45
It's good for lots of things.
0:47
It's good for sauteing or salad dressing.
0:51
Your family can even have them a glass
0:53
of pineapple juice for breakfast.
0:55
So you don't want to throw that away.
0:57
Now, we're just gonna toss it together like that,
1:01
and make sure it coats all of our pineapple.
1:03
And then we're gonna add our cheese.
1:06
And like I said, I think I've got about two cups,
1:08
but, you know, things like this it really doesn't
1:11
matter if you go over it a little bit, does it?
1:14
Can you get too much cheese?
1:18
And that's exactly two cups.
1:20
So we're right on the money with that.
1:22
I just love this sweet dish
1:24
along with the saltiness of the ham.
1:27
You know, it's really the best of both worlds.
1:29
And now we're gonna just pour this into our casserole dish.
1:35
Now I'm using like an eight by eight square pan.
1:38
So we're just gonna put that over in here.
1:42
All right, so all we're gonna do to that now
1:45
is give it a nice crust.
1:47
And we're gonna get that crust
1:49
by using one of my favorite crackers.
1:51
You can take them and they'll just crush up real nice.
1:56
And we're gonna measure out one cup of crumbs,
2:00
and we're gonna pour these crumbs
2:01
into a stick of melted butter.
2:04
And toss those around and get them nice and buttery.
2:10
All right, we've got our crackers and our butter.
2:13
And now we're gonna take some of this pineapple juice.
2:16
We're gonna take about six tablespoons
2:20
and mix in with our crumbs.
2:29
All right, so we're just gonna put those crumbs on top,
2:32
and it's gonna give it a nice little, sweet, salty crust.
2:38
It's gonna be so good with that ham.
2:42
And then that cheese is gonna string all out.
2:45
(whispering) Gonna be so yummy.
2:47
All right, and we're gonna put this in 350 degree oven.
2:54
So this one will be ready in a few minutes,
2:55
maybe about 25 minutes,
2:57
but doesn't take very long.
2:59
But I've got another one ready over here.
3:10
That just smells delicious.
3:12
Let me play it up some.
3:13
I want to give it a little taste.
3:17
You know, I always want to make sure
3:19
it's good enough for my family and my guest.
3:25
And you see how that flour almost made it almost like a
3:30
pineapple and cheese cobbler.
3:45
This is just the perfect southern side dish
3:49
for the perfect southern ham
3:51
(upbeat country music)
