I am so excited about today's show.
0:05
I'm in here in the kitchen just thinking
0:07
about wonderful things that remind me of the fall.
0:11
I’m gonna be making a delicious Pear Fritter Shell.
0:15
So grab your sweater because summer is over
0:18
and we're cooking up a fall harvest feast.
0:25
Now I'm going to start with one cup of flour.
0:31
I just want to level it off real good.
0:35
Before I throw in my flour I'm going to take
0:38
a half a cup of milk and one egg that's been slightly beaten
0:46
Into the bowl it goes.
0:52
Two teaspoons of sugar, One teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
1:07
And I'm just going to give that a little whisk
1:10
and then I'm going to toss in our cup of self-rising flour
1:16
and that's going to make our fritter puff up.
1:20
Oh that cinnamon is smelling so good.
1:24
And it's just perfect, Perfect spice for pears.
1:28
Now I'm going to add one cup of sour cream
1:33
and stir that into our batter.
1:37
And it's just like perfect.
1:45
Finished whisking our batter together
1:47
and I'm going to let it sit while I'm down here
1:50
working on our pears.
1:53
I've already gotten started on the pears.
1:54
And would you believe this pear is from one of my trees?
1:59
I have pear trees out in my garden.
2:03
I love fruit trees, so we're just going to peel our pear.
2:18
So we're just going to cut the stem off, cut the bottom off.
2:25
And then I'm going to come in with my Apple Corer,
2:29
stick it into our pear.
2:34
Now I'm just going to cut my pear rings, just like that.
2:46
And then we're going to take our rings over here
2:49
and I've got some oil that I've had heating up right here.
2:53
I'm just going to turn up the heat a little bit
2:57
and I'm going to just dip them down in our fritter batter
3:00
and into your hot oil that's about a fourth of an inch thick
3:07
Cook those 'till they're brown and that's it.
3:19
I'm done frying up fritters.
3:23
I've just got the last three ready to come out of the pan.
3:30
You can serve them plain, just like this.
3:33
I've got something else in mind for my fritter.
3:36
I've got some vanilla ice cream.
3:39
I'm just going to put a scoop right there in the center
3:47
I'm gonna put a little cinnamon sugar,
3:52
a little powdered sugar.
3:55
And then I'm just going to drizzle a little bit
3:59
of that maple syrup over the top.
4:05
Looks pretty good doesn't it?
4:08
And you know, I always tell you to eat your vegetables.
4:13
So we're going to come down here,
4:15
We're going to get us a little piece of fresh mint
4:17
and we're going to tuck right in there.
4:22
And let's move on down here because we've got something else
4:33
I can't eat a pear fritter without thinking
4:38
about my grandmother Paul.
4:46
She used to make Apple and pear fritters all the time.
4:51
That is so good with the ice cream.
4:54
And you can almost think of it as a healthy dessert
4:58
Because it's got that nice fresh pear,
5:02
it sounds good to me.
5:07
