I love the holidays, don't you?
0:04
Well, I'm having some friends in tonight,
0:06
and I'm gonna be putting together a little buffet.
0:09
And I'm starting with a decadent cream de mint brownie.
0:13
Now, I'm gonna start with two sticks of butter
0:16
that having been sitting at room temperature.
0:18
I'm gonna add two cups of sugar.
0:20
And we're just gonna cream that away.
0:24
Just beat it till it's nice and creamy and fluffy.
0:36
Okay, this is nice and creamy now.
0:39
All right, so we gonna add four eggs
0:42
to our butter and our sugar.
0:54
Okay, now this is really gonna get nice and creamy
0:58
and smooth for us now that we've added our eggs
1:02
to the butter and sugar.
1:06
All right, now we're gonna mix our dry ingredients together.
1:09
Our dry ingredients are 1 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour,
1:14
3/4 of a cup of cocoa,
1:17
1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder.
1:23
Just wanna kinda blend that together.
1:27
Okay, back over here.
1:28
I think I'm gonna go ahead and add me a teaspoon of vanilla.
1:36
There we go, so I'm freehanded now.
1:44
We're just gonna gradually blend our dry ingredients
1:50
And then in a second,
1:52
we gonna have a wonderful brownie batter.
2:06
All right, now that's the last of our dry ingredients.
2:09
And we don't wanna overbeat this.
2:11
We just wanna make sure
2:12
that all our dry ingredients are moistened
2:14
'cause otherwise if you overbeat it,
2:17
you could wind up with a tough brownie.
2:19
The only thing I want
2:21
around this recipe tough is me. (laughs)
2:26
I just wanted to sling some of that batter off.
2:30
Now, I've got a 13 by 9 by 2 pan that I've buttered,
2:34
and we're just gonna pour this.
2:37
Oops, I was about to miss the most wonderful part
2:41
of this brownie, and that's one 10-ounce bag
2:45
of cream de mint chocolate, y'all.
2:50
Just gonna fold that candy into that batter.
2:55
Mm, I can already smell the many flavors.
2:59
(inhales) Ooh, they're coming up here.
3:01
They're getting in my face, mm.
3:05
All right, so in our baking dish this goes.
3:11
And we're gonna put it in a preheated 350-degree oven,
3:16
and we're gonna bake it for about 25 minutes.
3:21
Okay, and now we just gonna spread that out.
3:30
Okay, so in the oven this goes.
3:50
It's gonna be perfectly delicious.
3:53
And this is what it's gonna look like when it's done.
3:58
And while it looks perfectly yummy,
4:02
I think it needs a glaze on it, don't you?
4:05
I've got two cups of confectionate sugar,
4:08
1/3 of a cup of cocoa, a stick of melted butter.
4:19
Now I'm just gonna incorporate the butter
4:21
into the powdered sugar.
4:27
I'm gonna thin it with a tablespoon of milk.
4:30
And I'm gonna give it a quick stir,
4:32
and I'm gonna add one teaspoon of vanilla extract.
4:37
Okay, now let's put this on here.
4:41
My sentiments on this little brownie is if it ain't broke,
4:47
This is a good brownie.
4:53
The candies that I folded into the batter awhile ago,
4:57
I've got some of those grated up here.
4:59
And I'm just gonna sprinkle that
5:03
on top of that chocolate,
5:05
and that mint flavor is just gonna really jump
5:09
out of there at you, mm.
5:15
even though I had my fingers crossed when I made it,
5:18
just in case, but I have not tasted this brownie, y'all.
5:23
But look how wonderful it looks.
5:25
And I've got some fresh sweetened whipped cream
5:41
Great time of day, that's good.
5:43
Mm, the mint, it's like chewing on a mint.
5:53
Hey, y'all, it's Paula Deen.
