Before I make those Uncle Bubba's beer biscuits that I promised you, I'm going to start with dessert
0:06
These are no-nonsense buddies of mine that race these cars. They're plain old guys
0:11
They like basic, down-to-earth food. So I'm going to make them a chocolate almond pie
0:19
Very, very simple. I'm going to use the double-boiler method, and I'm going to put the marshmallows into the bowl
0:25
And you could use miniature marshmallows or whatever you have. and milk
0:31
And I'm going to add the Hershey bars. And we're just going to stir that
0:37
until it's melted. Before you know it, we'll have this pie made
0:43
You see that chocolate's turning that milk into chocolate milk. Soon as that milk gets hot, it'll melt the marshmallows right away
0:50
I can't hardly wait to go to the races. These guys have some really jazzy vintage cars
0:57
Okay this is melted now so we gonna take this off and put it in the ice bath and let that cool down because we got some nice fresh sweetened whipped cream right here and if we added that whipped cream to our hot chocolate it would break it down and we don
1:16
want to do that so we're going to let this cool just for a few minutes doesn't have to be slap
1:21
cold but we're just going to cool it all right that should be just about ready
1:26
Now, I told you, these guys are no-nonsense guys. These are all American guys
1:34
and they are going to appreciate this graham cracker crust as much as they would a homemade, so this is what we're using
1:42
All right, I'm going to put the whipped cream, and this has been sweetened
1:46
and we're going to fold this into the pie. Now, you can use a frozen whipped topping if you like
1:55
like Cool Whip or something like that, but personally, it's worth the time to whip the fresh cream
2:02
I'm gonna add about a teaspoon of vanilla to it. And we're just gonna stir that
2:08
All right, we're ready to put it in the shell. Gonna tuck this away in the refrigerator and let it sit until it chilled and it
2:24
firm back up. And I'm feeding quite a few racers today, so I've already got one right
2:32
here. It's ready and I've got some chilled whipped cream and I'm just going to flute
2:44
the top of this with whipped cream. Y'all ready? That pretty and you don't have to use
2:58
any difficult tricks. When you're using the star tip, you just take it around just like
3:07
that, mash and release. And we're just going to continue on around the pie. And with each
3:15
layer I going to come up just a little bit higher until I worked as kind of a peak on the pie in the center Doesn that look good Now I going to go down here in the center and I going to fill up that hole I have And you saw what little effort
3:36
it took. Now I've got some chocolate curls over here and I curl that chocolate just with
3:41
regular ordinary potato peeler. Can't get any better or any simpler than that, but
3:53
just to make sure I think I need to try it, don't y'all? Look at that pie. Looks delicious
4:10
So let's dig in
4:24
So light and delicious and fluffy. You would just almost think it has no calories
